DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an exploration of the River Tamar\, the ancient 61-mile waterway that has divided? and connected? Cornwall and England since 936 AD. This talk journeys through centuries of human relationship with the river\, tracing how its perception shifts  from a daunting physical barrier to a bustling economic highway\, and finally as the gateway to the Celtic west. Using historic documents\, archival newspaper reports\, and recorded extracts\, the speaker will explore the voices of the people who lived\, worked\, and travelled along its banks.   \nDr Garry Tregidga is the Co-Director of the Institute of Cornish Studies\, at the Penryn Campus of the University of Exeter.
