A beloved figure in the St Ives community\, Cully overcame the loss of his sight following a mining accident in the United States and went on to compose some of Cornwall’s most cherished chapel carols. \n“Cully’s Curls” — including the much‑loved “Hellesveor” — remain a treasured part of the seasonal traditions of St Ives and beyond. This service will bring his music home\, celebrating the composer\, the chapel\, and the enduring carolling heritage he helped shape. \nThe carols will be performed by St. Ives Carol Choir under the musical directorship of William Thomas.
