DESCRIPTION:The Pobel a Gernow Plaque Scheme is an initiative of the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies\, Cornwall Heritage Trust\, and Gorsedh Kernow. The intention is to provide a national plaque scheme for Cornwall. It can now be announced that the first plaque to be erected will be to Albert de Castro Glubb at Liskeard. \nDe Castro Glubb was a significant figure in the Old Cornwall movement. He was a solicitor who was instrumental in rescuing and protecting a number of historic sites and ancient monuments in the 1930s. \nThe “Story Café” will be led by Brian Oldham\, President of Liskeard Old Cornwall Society\, and Pete Herring\, a Landscape Archaeologist and Historian\, the talk will explore the life\, achievements\, and passion for Cornish heritage of de Castro Glubb and the history of some of the monuments he helped save. These include King Doniert’s Stone\, The Hurler Stone Circles and Dupath Well to name but a few. \nAll three partners are offering members\, exclusive early access to book your tickets. \nMember Early Access – Albert de Castro Glubb – A ‘Pobel a Gernow’ Story Café \n \n

Fairground Free Car Park.\nThe section walked this year will be along the Loe valley to Lower Nansloe\, Degibna and Tangies\, terminating at Culdrose (about 3 miles of relatively easy walking through woods and open countryside).\nParticipants are invited to brink a packed lunch so that we may stop for a picnic along the way if the weather is suitable.  Transport will be provided back to the start point at the end of the walk.\nPlease let Peter Ferris (plferris@outlook.com) know if you would like to come along to support this old tradition so that I can advise of numbers.
