DESCRIPTION: Come and hear the history of the village which recent excavations show dates back at least 6\,000 years\, see the iconic Chapel perched 80 feet up on the rock\, hear of tin streaming\, tin mining\, china clay working and brick making\, our unique streams and the old road to Bodmin. Distance about 3 miles\, time around 1 ½ hours\, walk difficulty easy to moderate\, no mud so good walking shoes will suffice. Walking on quiet lanes and hard sand footpaths. One half mile long gentle uphill gradient. \nMeet at the Roche Social and Sports Club car park by kind permission of the Parish Council. The Social Club is at the start of Trezaise Road just along from Roche Parish Church. DESCRIPTION:There will be no Lafrowda Day in St Just this year. \nIn the past\, as part of the Lafrowda Day celebrations\, St Just and Pendeen Old Cornwall Society has put on an Exhibition of Archive Material in the Woman’s Institute Hall. This has always been extremely well attended\, and we have been asked on numerous occasions “Will there be an Exhibition this year?”. To satisfy this demand\, we are intending to have an “Open Day” for the Society’s Archive Material in the Age Concern Building in Fore Street\, St Just on SATURDAY JULY 19TH\, from 10:00am until 4:00pm. All are welcome to come and browse through our archive. Admission will be free\, but a donation for Society funds would be appreciated.
