We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Jennifer Susan Mary Paling, who served for many years as Secretary of Penzance Old Cornwall Society. Jennifer died peacefully on 11th September 2025, just days after the Gorsedh at Marazion—a special event where she had helped plan arrangements for banner bearers.
Jennifer played a key role in the life of Penzance OCS, bringing dedication, warmth, and a steady hand to her work. Over the past year, she had also been working closely with the Federation on a joint project, and her contributions were greatly valued.
On 29th September, members of Penzance Old Cornwall Society gathered at the Methodist Chapel to say farewell to their Hon Secretary. Her sons, Gawain and Jol, gave a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on her long and fulfilled life. Jennifer was a much-loved mother, grandmother, and a respected member of the many communities she served—especially in her beloved Penzance.
Our thoughts are with Jennifer’s family, friends, and all those in Penzance OCS who knew and worked alongside her. She will be remembered with affection and gratitude.
