Our Harrowbarrow heritage walk on the afternoon of Thursday 24th September was a great success, thanks in no small part to the excellent leadership of Jean Miller, whose deep local knowledge brought every stop to life. With sunny weather and a friendly group, it was the ideal setting to explore the village’s rich and varied past.
Federation at CHT’s ‘Awenek’ Festival
The Federation enjoyed a highly successful ‘Awenek’ festival, and it was a pleasure to support our friends at the Cornwall Heritage Trust.
Old Cornwall Success At Gorsedh Awards
Old Cornwall scored many successes in the Gorsedh Awards this year.
On Friday 4th September the Gorsedh Awards were held had Bodmin, MC’d by Michael Bunney, Chairman of St Goran OCS, who is now also employed by the Gorsedh.

Recently we took a little slice of Cornish culture over the border to Aberplymm.
On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September we took our Tales of the Tides project to Seafest, Plymouth’s annual celebration of the sea.

Gorsedh Kernow 2026 – A Proud Day for the Old Cornwall Movement
Gorsedh Kernow once again delivered a memorable celebration of Cornish culture, and the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies was delighted to play its part in supporting this important national event. While the Gorsedh is organised and led by Gorsedh Kernow, the day also provides a valued opportunity for OCSs to contribute, participate, and showcase the strength of community heritage work across Cornwall.

On Friday 7th August Bodmin OCS held their annual Bodmin Bombing Remembrance Service.
Natur! Festival of Archaeology
On Saturday 25th July The Natur! Festival of Archaeology event held in Bodmin provided a full day of informative and engaging activity. The programme brought together speakers, demonstrators, and community contributors to explore the relationship between archaeology, landscape, and local heritage.
Launceston Flower Festival – June 2026
In early June Launceston OCS participated in the Festival of Flowers at St Mary's Church, which proved an excellent opportunity to promote the Society.
