Pobel a Gernow “Story Cafe” Re: Albert de Castro Glubb
May 9 @ 3:00 pm - 4:45 pm

The Pobel a Gernow Plaque Scheme is an initiative of the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies, Cornwall Heritage Trust, and Gorsedh Kernow. The intention is to provide a national plaque scheme for Cornwall. It can now be announced that the first plaque to be erected will be to Albert de Castro Glubb at Liskeard.
De Castro Glubb was a significant figure in the Old Cornwall movement. He was a solicitor who was instrumental in rescuing and protecting a number of historic sites and ancient monuments in the 1930s.
The “Story Café” will be led by Brian Oldham, President of Liskeard Old Cornwall Society, and Pete Herring, a Landscape Archaeologist and Historian, the talk will explore the life, achievements, and passion for Cornish heritage of de Castro Glubb and the history of some of the monuments he helped save. These include King Doniert’s Stone, The Hurler Stone Circles and Dupath Well to name but a few.
All three partners are offering members, exclusive early access to book your tickets.
