Talk: Junket & Tolls by John Husband
September 8 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Thomas Bickle (TB) Percy – A Life Reconstructed
Truro Old Cornwall Society kicks off its new season with a very Truro subject. Historian and biographer, John Husband, wi9ll speak about T B Percy of Truro, manufacturer of Percy’s Rennet, which very many households used to use to make a traditional favourite Cornish pudding – Junket.
This really is a case of gathering the fragments. John Husband has not only researched his subject well, but he is also hoping to revitalise Cornwall’s appetite for the gelatinous delicacy beloved of so many – Junket’s on the way back.
So much so, that the owner of Zafiro’s in New Bridge Street, where the Society meets at 7.30pm on Tuesday 8th September, Mandy Hoare will be making junkets in small portions for all who wish to sample it at the meeting – a rare and sentimental treat, and perhaps a voyage of culinary exploration for some.
