A Soggy Summer Outing with Bude-Stratton and District Old Cornwall Society

A hardy band from Bude-Stratton & District made it to Kerdroya, by the side of Colliford Lake, on Thursday 12 June despite the inclement weather. We had a close look at the magnificent Cornish hedges which have been skilfully laid out within the labyrinth, and we admired the craftmanship involved in the numerous building styles on display. Kerdroya is in a beautiful setting and really is worth a visit.

After Kerdroya we had planned to travel onto Looe by train from Liskeard but wisely opted for the wet-weather programme instead – we headed off to the near-by St Neot Church and really enjoyed viewing the amazing stained-glass windows inside and the stone crosses outside. We concluded the visit with a welcome lunch.
