Archives To The Fore at Bude Heritage Day

On one of the hottest days of the summer so far, Sunday 13 July, Bude-Stratton and District OCS took part in the Town Council’s highly successful Bude Heritage Day.

Amongst a wide array of stalls and attractions, we displayed highlights from our archive including railway memorabilia, a collage of then-and-now photographs across the town and a fascinating pictorial summary of Gerald Fry’s detailed study of bridges across the Tamar. The event was well attended, and many interesting historical discussions and reminiscences were pondered!

We also had the welcome opportunity to meet and chat with Laura Miucci, the Federation’s Archaeology Officer, who was manning a stall nearby.
