Little Par lies between the lower parts of Tehidy Road and Southpark Road, Tywardreath. William Rundell, rented most of this and used it as a market garden and was noted for selling ripe strawberries at Tywardreath Fair, held on June 10th. Tywardreath Fair having lapsed for many years, the tenant-farmer of Newhouse made an attempt to resuscitate in 1881 or 1882.
William Rundell built six cottages on this holding for his six children – two in one block, and six in another. William Rundell died in 1848.
The Royal Hotel was entered in the Rate Books as of Little Par. This Hotel could scarcely have been built before the opening of the Cornwall Railway.
There was a sea-cave in the cliff a little way down from the Royal Hotel, and a short way up the marsh from the hotel was an adit. Another adit was at Little Hell or Hayle, and ran towards Trill Farm and a third was in the cliffs below Endsleigh.
