Heritage Day – Honouring G. E. Street the church architect.

George Edmund Street (1824-1881) was the architect who was commissioned to build St Mary the Virgin church in Par at the age of 22 and it was his first commission. He went on to become a famous architect renovating many churches in Cornwall, and among many other great works, was the architect of the Royal Courts of Justice in London and is buried in Westminster Abbey.
