March saw two more delightful days in our Saints & Socials programme, each offering its own blend of heritage, sunshine, and good company.
We began on Thursday 12th at Breage, where members were treated to a remarkable series of medieval wall paintings. On Thursday 19th, a beautifully sunny day in North Cornwall set the scene for our second outing. Our Archaeology Officer, Laura, shared her insights into the medieval wall painting at St Thomas’ Church, before we enjoyed a rare treat this year — lunch by the river in warm spring sunshine.
Afterwards, Rob Tremain led a fascinating tour of the priory, a real highlight for those visiting for the first time. We then made our way to Linkinhorne, where we explored two further medieval wall paintings, Tudor benches, church silver, and many other treasures.
This series is proving to be a wonderful way to spend a day among like‑minded friends, discovering the richness of Cornwall’s sacred heritage together.
