In Memoriam: Barbara Seed, Par OCS

Par Old Cornwall Society are sad to announce the death of Barbara Seed our former Secretary, Recorder and Archivist, after a long illness. With her organisational & computer skills as well as enthusiasm, she helped to arrange several of the exhibitions put on by our society. She researched & wrote the booklet ‘St Blazey, Par, Tywardreath Remembered 1914-1928’ and provided photographs and information for our latest publications ‘Par The Little Town that came out of the Sea’ and ‘Cap’n Harry’.

Barbara was always happy to respond to requests for information about the village of Tywardreath where she lived.  She also held the role of Treasurer to the Federation for some time, a job she carried out in her usual calm & efficient manner. She assisted former President Priscilla Oates in putting on the very first Recorders Training Day which was held in Par, so successful was it that it has now become an annual event hosted by other Societies. Barbara will be much missed.
