Denise Unitt is the Old Cornwall Contact for St Germans. With a deep academic grounding in Celtic and Classical Studies, and current PhD research under Garry Tregidga at the Institute of Cornish Studies, Denise brings both scholarly insight and heartfelt commitment to Cornwall’s cultural heritage.
Denise’s focus is on the saints of Truro Cathedral and their links to Cornish revivalism, with a particular interest in how traditions evolve and find new life. Her passion for St Germans — a place of historic significance in Cornwall — has led her to focus on heritage, history, and cultural identity rooted in the local landscape.
She aims to develop a programme of talks and events that celebrate St Germans’ unique story, and is already working to bring respected scholars such as Prof. Orme and Dr Jo Mattingly to the village in spring 2026.
If you have any interest in St Germans history, heritage, or culture please make contact with Denise for further information.
