Gorsedh Kernow has announced 21 new Bards for 2026, and the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies is pleased to see several of our members recognised for their work in Cornish culture and language.
Federation‑Linked New Bards
Jane Cunio – Callington OCS Jane is a Federation Cornish Language Officer and active member of Callington OCS, supporting our wider language efforts across the movement.
Rosalyn Hayward – Luxulyan OCS Ros serves as Treasurer of the Federation and is well known for supporting our book sales, displays, and stalls. She is also Secretary of Luxulyan OCS, helping to run a busy programme of talks and events.
Robin McCarthy – St Gerrans & Porthscatho OCS Robin is one of the Federation’s Cornish Language Officers and a representative on Kesva an Taves Kernewek. Her language classes at St Gerrans & Porthscatho OCS have become a valued part of local cultural activity.
Mark Mitchley – St Goran OCS Mark is a Federation representative on Kesva an Taves Kernewek and Secretary of St Goran OCS. His steady work in language and society leadership has been an important contribution to the Federation.
Amongst the others honoured are many friends of Old Cornwall who have often engaged with our events, projects and collaborations, including Elizabeth Dale (Cornish Bird), Stephen Polglase, Ann Preston-Jones, and Cathy Woolcock.
The Federation congratulates all new Bards and is pleased to see the work of Old Cornwall Societies reflected in this year’s cohort.
