On Monday 8th December, St Austell Old Cornwall Society marked its 100th anniversary with a superb evening of music, memory, and celebration — a fitting tribute to a Society that has spent a century gathering, recording, and promoting the heritage of Mid-Cornwall.
One Starry Night: A Port Isaac Christmas at Truro Cathedral
At 7pm on Wednesday 10th December, the Port Isaac Carols were beautifully held at Truro Cathedral, drawing an excellent attendance and filling the space with festive cheer and community spirit. The service was led with grace and warmth by Reverend Helen Byrne.
In Memoriam: John Benallick, St Columb OCS
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our President, John Bennallick. A devoted servant of the St Columb Old Cornwall Society and a true champion of Cornish culture, John gave decades of leadership, friendship, and tireless commitment to the community he loved.
Tradition of Singing North Cornwall’s Carols Upheld
Audrey Aylmer, stalwart of Bude-Stratton & District Old Cornwall Society (and pictured on the right), organised another successful Society Advent Service commemorating many ‘carols of old’ from North Cornwall on Monday 1 December.
